Watson Grove Baptist Church is Hiring an Executive Pastor Near Nashville, TN

Job Summary:
The Executive Pastor reports to the Senior Pastor and will be responsible for creating strategic ministry objectives, establishing performance metrics, overseeing operations, leading, and directing the church staff. The Executive Pastor will set goals for the staff which aim to accomplish the church’s mission and vision. This person will support and manage staff, implement processes to optimize church operations, work to expand and unify the church, and manage resources effectively. The Executive Pastor will oversee church services and ensure members of different ages and from diverse backgrounds are served effectively. This position works to ensure spiritual growth and physical expansion, while maintaining the legacy of growing fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ who love God completely, intentionally develop their faith, and passionately change the world around them.

Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead initiatives that represent our values
  • Set clear ministry expectations and ensure alignment with mission and vision.
  • Set clear goals for results and benchmarks.
  • Cast vision and foster excitement for growth in numbers and volunteers.
  • Work to increase the partners and volunteers.
  • Build strong connections in the community.
  • Shepherd the people well as a pastor, making sure they feel loved and connected.
  • Help relieve pastoral weight from the Senior Pastor.
  • Connect relationally with the stakeholders of the church.
  • Execute and improve operations at the church.
  • Oversee revenue and cost centers of the church.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive training and leadership development process for staff.
  • Facilitates annual strategic planning and budgeting.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree (required).
  • M.Div. or Master’s in Theology or Religion is required. An MBA or other graduate business degree is preferred.
  • Five to seven years of church experience in leadership.
  • Current experience preaching from the platform experience, at least 10 to 12 times a year.
  • Bonus experience:
  • Marketplace experience.
  • Multi-site experience.

  • Possesses strong project management skills.
  • Has emotional intelligence.
  • Is able to connect the church to the community and the community to the church.
  • Is an excellent communicator from the platform, but also personally and professionally.
  • Has a strong gift in preaching the Gospel.
  • Helps ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Is solution focused and is committed to continuous improvement.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
